About

Who am I?

I have decided for a few reasons to blog anonymously. This may change one day, but for now I’ll stick with dan.

Why the blog?

While completing my undergraduate degree, I always found it irritating that all of the student-orientated help online seemed to have a very strong humanities slant to it. I had then decided to start a blog which had a stronger focus on the behavioural sciences (in particular psychology) and neuroscience.

Because of a number of reasons (procrastination, lack of proper planning, no real strategy or plan, immaturity, pick one), the blog eventually died.

My reasons for resurrecting it (other than that I had already paid for hosting and the domain name) were a desire to work on my writing style. If all goes well, the blog might actually help me keep on top of my research as well as providing a creative outlet.

I will try to blog to a regular schedule. This, of course, depends on what my real life schedule looks like, so at times there may be more posts and at others there will be less. The focus of the blog will be research in cognitive neuroscience and psychology, as well as how to survive academia.
